James O. Collins, born Aug. 15,1939, passed away at his home in Fredericksburg, Texas on Sunday, April 24, 2016 after a short battle with cancer.
James was born and grew up in Lubbock, Texas graduating from LHS in 1955. He attended Texas A&M, graduated from Texas Tech and received his MBA from UNM. James married Ann Trigg in 1964 and throughout their time together lived in Albuquerque, N.M.; Lubbock, Texas; Gunnison, Colo.; and Fredericksburg, Texas. James retired from the dairy manufacturing business and then happily pursued a new career in travel, fishing, golf and spending lots of time with family and friends.
James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann; daughter, Cathryn and husband Gerard; son, Trigg and wife Courtney; grandchildren, Van Collins and Hadley Collins; sister, Carol Douglass; brother, Howard Collins and wife Roma; nieces and nephews; and many, many friends who all loved and appreciated James’ kindness, thoughtfulness and terrific sense of humor.
A private family memorial service will take place this summer where his wishes will be honored.
